SERGII KOZIAKOV AND PARTNERS COMMENTS ON THE ACCESSION OF UKRAINE TO THE AGREEMENT ON GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT

November 12, in Geneva the representatives of states-parties to the World Trade Organization (WTO) committee on government procurement unanimously agreed on Ukraine`s accession to the Agreement on Government Procurement,GPA.

Nataliia Isakhanova, partner at “Sergii Koziakov and Partners” Law firm, in the commentary for “Legal Practice” pointed that Ukraine`s accession to the GPA will facilitate the access of Ukrainian producers to the market of public procurement of other states-parties to the GPA, betterment of goods price-quality correlation in self procurement system, potential increase of reasons for direct foreign investments, opportunity to influence the process of accession of other states to the GPA, opportunity to influence future amendments to the agreement within the framework of Doha Round negotiations, better opportunity to use WTO dispute settlement mechanism in case of protectionist measures by other states-parties.
