The District court of Amsterdam has issued its decision in the Case on the return to Ukraine of museum exhibits, previously exported with the purpose of carrying out of the exhibition “Crimea – golden island in the Black Sea” in the Allard Pierson museum – the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, Kingdom of the Netherlands).
In its decision the Court rejected the claim to return of museum exhibits of the public part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine to four Crimean museums located in the temporary occupied territory of Ukraine.
The Court decided to return museum exhibits to their lawful owner – the State of Ukraine, namely to the National museum of history of Ukraine (city of Kyiv), designated by the respective order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine as the museum-depositary, where museum exhibits are subject to storage until the stabilization of politic situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The successful completion of the litigation in the District court of Amsterdam became possible due to the professionalism of Sergii Koziakov & Partners specialists involved in the project –Partner Andriy Karnaukhov, Counselor Olena Hladyuk and associate Andriy Pylypenko, in cooperation with Dutch partner «Bergh Stoop & Sanders», and also expeditious and coordinated actions of officials of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
