On June 30, two orders of the Ministry of Finance aimed at improving the protection of intellectual property rights at customs (No. 281 and No. 282 of 09.06.2020) came into force. After entry into force of the Law “On Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine regarding the protection of intellectual property rights when moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine”, the adoption of these orders is the next step in the further implementation of the provisions of EU regulations, carried out within the framework of fulfilling the obligations under Art. 84 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, in particular, Commission Regulation (EC) No 1891/2004 of October 21, 2004, which sets out the rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 1383/2003 of July 22, 2003 on customs actions against goods, suspected of violating certain intellectual property rights, and the necessary measures against goods that infringe such rights.
